The Moon is: Third Quarter Moon When calculating a chart, the Acendant is calculated (which gives the outer personality of the subject) and opposite to this exists the Descendant. Discover the guides that underly our world and the tides that blow our souls
The most important piece of information for the calculation of a Birth Chart (Horoscope) is the Sign that is rising from the eastern horizon at the time of birth. This is called the Ascendant or "Rising" Sign and is why Astrologers ask for the time and place of birth of an individual as well as the date Astrologers, when composing a Chart, assume that the Earth is a fixed point and that all other cosmic bodies revolve around it. This is then applied to the Horoscope and the main circle of the Chart is divided into 12 portions. Each portion becomes a "House" and, using the Equal House system, is of two hours duration. The Ascendant or "Rising" Sign is the entry point to the First House - The Starting Point. The Outer and Inner SelfThe Ascendant or "Rising" Sign reveals the way we feel and portray ourselves, it is the "Outer" personality, how we are seen by others and gives insight into an individual's approach to life. With the "Rising" sign changing every two hours or so, it can be seen why even twins born very shortly apart can have two seemingly different personalities, as they could quite easily have two different Ascendants. As the "Rising" sign governs the first house, the "Ruling Planet" of that sign becomes the ruler of the Horoscope. In the interpretation of any Chart, the "Rising" sign or Ascendant, the "Sun" sign and the "Moon" sign are the three most important elements. So if you find that you're a Libran but Capricorn seems more 'you' it's probably your ascendant that's the reason. The only way to use astrology to really discover the real you is to calculate the chart based on your birthdate, place and preferably time. Each astrological chart and the interpretation is derived from various elements - find out more on these components below:The Midheaven or Medium Coeli in Astrology |
